Nadia’s Illustrations could be described as delicate, detailed renderings reflecting an appreciation for negative space along with a considered approach to mark making and capturing light. Her work often reflects imagery conjured by furry critters, the magic of nature, ethereal muses, cautionary fairytales and childhood memories of bedtimes stories where beautiful illustrations danced across the page and into fantastical dreams. Nadia loves to delve into detailed textures such as glistening fur, intrigued with illustrations of animals that make you want to reach out and pat them. This work begins with a detailed graphite drawing which is often coloured digitally with subtle textural elements added, creating depth and interest.

The inspiration behind this work is a desire to create and preserve a nurturing space for children where anything is possible, to strengthen their “imagination muscle” and thus connect with the inner peace this exploration brings. This philosophy extends to adults, creating an escape from a sometimes all too real world in a desire to support the unconventional, creative spirit.

Nadia completed an Advanced Diploma of Illustration, Graphic Design at Enmore Design Centre in 2018. She then chose to extend her study to a Bachelor of Communication Design at Billy Blue College of Design completed in 2021. With a love for visual problem solving Nadia believes in informed design with an empathetic approach, discovering as much as she can before picking up a pencil. When not at her desk she can be found cocooned in a soft blanket with a nature documentary, gazing through the children’s section of a bookshop or hidden in the corner of an antiques store.
